For Journal52, I decided to do the weekly prompts in tag format and eventually make a tag book of them. For that, I wanted a cover and after seeing a technique presentation by Finnabair in Creative Jumpstart, I decided to give her style and technique (so very far from what I normally do) a go.
The base I worked on was a piece of cardboard from a box from Amazon and on that I put various things, including corrugated cardboard, a paper flower, a large metal paper clip, a clock face, a few beads from a candle decoration and an hourglass pendant . I glued everything down, painted it with gesso all over and let it dry. Now it looked like this:
Actually, I think it was pretty delicious all white (I will probably make an all white canvas with the same technique), but because CJS is about testing new techniques and using different kinds of media, I continued the process.
When the gesso was completely dry, I coloured by using Glimmer Mists from Tattered Angels and spray ink from Dylusion's. Once the paint was dry, I added gold paint to the letters and numbers as well as to the small beads. Even the edges of the flower got some gold on it.
